Positive: The location of Villa Solara is ok, but requires a short walk to a road where you can catch a taxi. On arrival ( we were early) Vanessa walked us to the taxi spot and even loaned us money for a taxi into Halfway Tree, as we hadn’t yet had time to find an atm for local currency. Both she and her husband Marvin were wonderful throughout our stay, helping us with transport and even offering a complimentary cleaning. The apartment itself is lovely and Mia has lovingly decorated every room. Mia and her husband Josh came to meet us and brought a couple of kitchen items that we had requested which was a nice touch. Having access to a washing machine was very handy. Mia was very open to communication and is continuing to improve the apartment.
Negative: It took us a few days to figure out the hot water arrangement in the shower…the temperature needs to be set manually and the thermostat was set very high on the wall. Luckily my partner is tall and could adjust this for us. Mia assures us this is being lowered before the apartment is rented again. There is no hot water in the kitchen , so we had to resort to washing our dishes in the tiny bathroom sink with the hot water hose from the shower. A few times, there was no water at all in the kitchen…this may be a problem with the local water supply…it wasn’t a big deal. The front bedroom needs a heavier, blockout curtain, it was difficult to sleep in…also due to the VERY loud music the neighbors played starting at 7 am every day and the fact that the property is on a very busy, noisy road. I suggest earplugs. The front step into the apartment may be a little tricky for elderly or frail people to negotiate…it is high and offset from the entrance, which has a heavy sliding door. We couldn’t get the tvs to work properly for us…unable to watch anything on the one in the front bedroom. Some comprehensive instructions for operation are needed.

Positive: The property was clean and well kept. The hosts were also friendly and professional. Additionally the property was also spacious and smelt really nice 😃 !
Negative: Even though it was a superb experience, I wish it was a bit easier to find!

Positive: The apartment was very secure, including for our rental car. It was also spacious and well fit out. The kitchen could have a few more utensils and a toaster but served our needs nevertheless. The girl on site was exceptionally helpful upon our arrival.
Negative: Would have been an 8 if it had air conditioning; a 9 if it had hot water but not a 10 due to the location which was ordinary.
